The Experience
About The Caldwell Beach House
The house sits at the end of a small point in Ka'a'awa with water on three sides. The upper deck looks straight at Mokoli'i, and the Ko'olau cliffs stand directly behind the house. It is a two-story home with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and room for eleven.
The ground floor is a single open room: living area, dining table and kitchen island in a line along a glass wall facing the bay. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a large island and a full set of cookware. Sliding doors open onto the lawn, the seawall and a hammock between the trees.
Three bedrooms are upstairs. The primary bedroom has a king bed and opens onto the upper deck. The second bedroom also has a king bed and its own windows onto the water. The third is a bunk room with a twin bunk bed and a twin trundle, three twin beds in all. The fourth bedroom is on the ground floor, with a bunk that has a full bed below, a twin above and a twin trundle, plus built-in shelving. Bathrooms have walk-in showers, and there is a washer and dryer in the house.
Ka'a'awa is a small community on the windward coast, about 45 minutes from Honolulu airport. Kualoa Ranch is a few minutes away, the beach park is next door, and the North Shore is half an hour up the coast. In the evening the sun sets behind the cliffs and the bay goes quiet.
