House Rules

Check-in and checkout

• -Check-in is after 3:00 PM.
• -Checkout is before 10:00 AM.
• -Check-in is self check-in using a keypad. Your code is sent before arrival.

Occupancy and conduct

• -A maximum of eight guests is permitted.
• -Pets are not allowed.
• -Quiet hours are from 8:00 PM until 7:00 AM.
• -Parties and events are not permitted.
• -Commercial photography is not permitted.
• -Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.

Shoes off inside

• -Please remove your shoes before entering the beach house.

Care of the property

• -Please respect the furniture, fixtures, decor, equipment and the property, and treat the home with care.
• -Tell us immediately about accidental damage to anything inside the house or elsewhere on the property.

Prompt reporting is genuinely helpful - it lets us fix things quickly, often before they affect the rest of your stay.

Tropical location, bugs and rodents

The house sits between the ocean and the mountains in a tropical rainforest climate. We take proactive pest-control measures, but because of where we are, bugs and rodents may occasionally be present.

• -Please report any pest problem promptly so we can deal with it.
• -If you are uncomfortable with the possibility of encountering bugs or rodents, please do not book this property.

Refunds are not provided solely because of this naturally occurring condition.

Food, dishes and daily trash

Food, trash and dirty dishes attract pests, so these rules matter more here than they would elsewhere.

• -All food must be secured in the kitchen overnight.
• -Food cannot be left out. Store it in the refrigerator, or in sealed bags inside the cabinets.
• -Take the trash out daily.
• -Do not leave dirty dishes in the kitchen overnight.

Separating the trash

Please separate household waste from recyclables, and use the right bin.

• -Black bins are for regular household waste.
• -Blue bins are for recyclables.
• -Green bins are for yard waste only. Please do not use the green bins.
• -Food scraps and other organic waste go in with regular household waste, in the black bins - composting facilities are not available here.

Power outages

The property does not have a backup generator.

• -Power outages can happen.
• -We are not responsible for inconveniences or expenses caused by an outage outside our control.

Your booking party

• -The primary booking guest is responsible for sharing these House Rules with everyone included in the reservation and everyone visiting the property.
• -When you book, you confirm that you will pass these rules on to your whole party.

Before you leave

A short checklist for checkout morning.

• -Gather all used towels.
• -Throw away all trash.
• -Turn off lights, appliances, electronics and anything else applicable.
• -Close the living room window panels.
• -Lock the property.

Water equipment security fee

A $300 refundable security fee applies at check-in for the water equipment: kayaks, paddles, stand-up paddleboards and surfboards.

• -The fee covers loss of, or damage to, that equipment.
• -It is refundable in full when the equipment is returned undamaged at checkout.
• -If equipment is lost or damaged, the cost of repair or replacement is deducted and the balance returned.

Use of the water equipment also requires a separate water-activity waiver.

Safety and property disclosures

Please read these before you book.

• -Exterior security cameras are present on the property. There are no cameras inside the house.
• -The property is directly next to the ocean.
• -Some areas of the property have heights without rails or other protective barriers.
• -Children should be supervised at all times near the water and near any unprotected edge.
